S7 or S7 Edge?

At first I thought S7 but I finally went with S7 edge

I gotta go check both out at Best buy but leaning towards the S7. I went from a galaxy nexus to the note 2 them the G3 I currently have. For the most part I love the size and slim bezel of the G3, but it can be unwieldy at times as my hands aren't huge and I do need to take it out of my pocket with certain pants when I sit down. Plus I don't think I'd utilize the edge features and what you gain in battery with the edge is going to get eaten by the bigger screen I think, so I don't think the edge will have much if any battery advantage.

Edge is really addictive and has a better holding than non-edge
Haha funny how we're all so different! After holding both in my hands I actually feel the opposite, the S7 felt more comfy in my hands due to its even more curved back and slightly narrower profile.

Mmmm I agree, phone height is something that doesn't really matter... until you put it into a pocket.

I asked my Samsung trainer directly whether the S7 edge would get much longer battery life than the S7 at my product training and he downplayed the difference between them, as he said the larger screen does indeed drain more power. He said it'd be about an extra hour or two a day on average in favour of the edge.

I am nervous about possible glare and accidentally setting off the edge features but I want that bigger screen. Oh how I wish there was a Galaxy S7+

No idea why anyone wants smaller than 5.7 for a cell phone

That said, will still probably end up with the Edge. Really liked the Edge on the Note 4 Edge and looks like they are sorta bringing the functionality back. Big battery too.

Real simple Devil. We are all different with different wants/needs. Some have smaller hands. Some don't like putting a big phone in ones pocket, some feel more comfortable using one hand with a 5.1 inch phone over the 5.5. Some use there phones for simple things and have a larger computer at home/office for the real tasks. Some just like it, as I do. Not really hard to understand at all.

When I got my S6 last June I wasn't interested in the edge at all. £100 more expensive at least, and seemed to do nothing. It looked really cool, but seemed to offer little else over the S6.

The S7 Edge has a bigger screen and battery though, and the ergonomics seem improved and so I think I'm going to go for the Edge this time as I like larger screens and hopefully battery life will be even (a little) better than the S7.

Went into Best Buy thinking S7 but thought maybe the Edge would get me. Played with both and i will say I still am going with the S7 . I did like the Edge thought it was cool and loved the features but it was just to long . I wanted to go back to something that I could one hand again. I will say you really can't go wrong which ever you choose , both are great.

We agree - I was playing off a post that said 'no idea why anyone wants a phone bigger than 5.1'

Should have had a ;)

Everyone has their thing. No right or wrong.

I'm way too addicted to the S-Pen now to 'go back' to an S model.

I keep reading this on the forums. I love my S6 but definitely considering a phablet next round. I can't figure out why the S Pen is as addicting as people say? I've never used a note as a daily driver, I am sure the s pen is great but what are you faithful fans using it mostly for? For business or personal? What's the best spen features?

Sorry for off topic, but I think would weigh some input on spen vs no spen.

I've had the Note 4 and have the Note 5. I've used my S Pen maybe 3 times, lol. And, it was only to draw an arrow pointing to something on a screenshot.

Although, screen off note feature is useful to jot something done quickly. At work, I'm a pen and paper guy and the screen is simply not useful enough for longhand notes.

Edit: in short, the S Pen didn't sell me the Note, the screen size did. Now, the 5.1" screen size of the regular S7 sold me. Go figure.

Like the name implies, it's for notes. I do a lot of note-taking at work and having the S-Pen allows me to have my notes in digital form everywhere and since the Note line makes handwritten text searchable, it's even better. If you're good at drawing, there's no better way to do digital stuff in your phone/tablet. And it's also great for adding notes and annotations and funny drawings to pictures or sketch something on a map, for instance.

I am trying the S7 Edge now and have been using S-Notes on a tablet without the S-Pen and the difference between that and my current passive-stylus handwriting sows A LOT. I'll try (hopefully soon) an active stylus and see if I can get at least better precision on the screen even though I won't have pressure control (which, for notes, it's not something I'd miss).

I got he S7 Edge yesterday and went in today to get the S7. I just can't get past the size of the Edge, as much as I want to and love the color (it was a silver one). Phone size is totally subjective but the added features of the Edge meant nothing to me in making up for its size.

I usually say go with the biggest screen you can manage. I could give or take the edge screen, but the larger size on the display and battery would sway me given the choice.

I'm getting a S7 for my wife, she insisted on a smaller phone than her current G4.

I got the S7 edge and using it for a week, love everything but I'm not a big fan of the edge software and rarely use them so ordered the regular S7 as well yesterday to try it out. The only concern I have with the regular one is the battery, if it can get me full day from morning 6 to before I go to bed then I'm keeping the S7 over the edge. I doubt it will be the case since with my edge is near 20% by the end of the day so let's see.

Funny you say this, yesterday I was in a meeting with my director and without my notepad or laptop...i NEEDED to take notes and would have loved to have this feature in that moment. I just wonder how often id use it, im not a drawing kinda person...but i guess even if i used it a hand full of times it doesnt hurt to have the option.

Get the s7 edge. I have been using it for almost a month and its awesome. The edge panels come in very handy when you want to open an app, and it looks amazing.
