S7 Previewing text even with Preview off

Just upgraded to the S7 yesterday. When I get a text message, it shows on the lock screen who it is from and it shows the actual text message. On my mom's phone, it shows who it is from and says "1 new message" This is what I want it to do. Our settings are exactly the same. I do not want to it say "content hidden". I want it to say "1 new message". I am trying to avoid hours in the store and a factory reset. Anyone know how to make this happen?

So what are your settings in App Notifications (Settings-Device-Notifications-click on Advanced in top right)? On this screen you should select Hide Content on Lock Screen, but keep the Hide on lock screen unchecked. This should show the notification on the lock screen w/o any details - just the notification.
