80% of the enemy of batteries are a combination of specific apps, and signal strength. While MM did some improvements, apps still dictate your battery life. Nugat will be the big one. It will kill apps without mercy which try to keep the device from going to sleep. I occasionally get a mediaserver wakelock... and Nugat should keep that baby from killing my battery. Also, battery opinions are like....everyone has one. Turning on the screen, even for a second to flip wifi on/off, or bluetooth on/off likely takes more battery than you are saving by turning them off. That's the logic with the always on display. Turning on the full screen to check the time, kills more battery than the small amount the AOD uses. Signal strength is a huge battery killer and beyond your control. On my note 5, i get huge battery drain at work, and not at home. Mostly due to signal strength.
