S7 to S10+ syncing steps?

Ok, so I've never gone from Samsung to Samsung. I know I need to use the Smart Switch app.But do I start it from the S10+ or the S7?

I have a SD card in the S7. At what point do I remove it and insert it in the S10+ ? Do I need to decrypt it , or something like that, before I insert it in the S10+ ?

Basically, what are the steps I need to follow for a seamless transition?

Open SmartSwitch on both phones. Smart Switch will ask if that phone is the sender or the receiver. Set both phones accordingly. Smart Switch will also ask if you want to include SD card contents in transfer. Say yes or no. Click start and wait.

I don't have another sd card for the S10+. I plan on using the sd card in my S7. Should I remove the sd card from the S7 prior to starting the switch? And should I put the S7 in airplane mode before beginning the switch? Thanks.

Can a mod edit the title of this thread from "S&" to "S7"?

I went from the S7 to S10 and didn't put it into airplane mode. I don't think you need to remove the SD card first. After you're done you can put the SD card in the S10 and have the option to move stuff over to the SD card from the built in storage after the fact.
