S7 versus S7 Edge lock screen behavior

I have an s7 and just recently purchased an s7 edge. I'm noticing the lock screen behavior is different between the two, and I can't figure out why.

I have my s7 flat set to lock after 10 minutes with a PIN. If I turn off the screen (with the power button) and turn the screen back on before 10 minutes (with either the home button or the power button), I am presented with the lock screen and notifications. I then have to swipe up if I want to get into the home screen.

On the s7 edge, with the same settings, with the screen off when I press the home button or power button before 10 minutes, it goes directly to the home screen, skipping the lock screen and notifications.

Is there a way to make the edge behave like the flat model?

Thanks.

I'm confused, didn't you say you wanted your Edge to lock with the power button like your flat does?

Copied from my original post:

I have my s7 flat set to lock after 10 minutes with a PIN. If I turn off the screen (with the power button) and turn the screen back on before 10 minutes (with either the home button or the power button), I am presented with the lock screen and notifications. Restated differently, on the s7 when you turn on the screen with the home button or power button *before* the lock timeout (in my case in less than 10 minutes), you are presented with the lock screen but the phone is not fully locked. All you have to do is then swipe up (without entering the PIN) if you want to see the home screen.

The advantage of this behavior is that you can hit the power button or home button and see all your notifications. Additionally, the phone is not locked, so you don't have to enter a PIN if you want to act on a notification or do something else with the device.

On the s7 edge, if goes right to the home screen when you click power or home. On the edge the only way you can have the notifications show on power or home click is if you set the phone to lock immediately. I don't want the phone to fully lock immediately.

Make sense?

Set the Edge's Screen lock type to Swipe. That should do what you want.

Actually, never mind. I see what you mean.
