s7edge first look from former IOS

Unfortunately, this won't be too in-depth because I am new to the OS and still trying to adjust to the freedom.

..long time IOS user, since the beginning, received my edge yesterday. I was extremely hesitant on removing it form the box as my case isn't due to arrive till tomorrow. Btw, I went with the Spigen Thin Fit - Black

Anyways, had to remove the phone since I needed the MAC address to submit the VR Promo.

WOW! Out the box, no power, the fit and feel blow away any iPhone I have ever had. Its a nice phone! Stoked. Kudos to Samsung for an excellent device. Did my best to transfer everything, and eventually had an at&t rep finish it up for me. Shot down to BB to grab an SD card; just went with the 64gb as everything else was sold out. I did get the fastest R/W available though. I am sure I will upgrade eventually, if needed.

Powered up, the screen on this phone is amazing, so vibrant and very rich in color. Zero lag, or stuttering. The touch is very responsive. It just keeps getting better.

I did manage to disable what I "thought" were unnecessary apps, but i am sure I left some out. This is where I lean on you experts..

Im sure its too soon to expect a list populated with the discovered bloatware as I have seen with previous versions, BUT could anyone possible help me identify anything else that needs disabled or uninstalled?

The app even color codes things to let you know what's bloatware and such.

Me too. I'm living this phone is so stylish. It's amazing. I'm still trying to learn and figure out stuff.

..two weeks deep; still impressive

I am sure it will all wear off, but I continue to be amazed. I have to agree with what I have read in that this feels like a $700 phone. I am using a Spigen Thin Fit case, cause I didn't want to add any bulk to the device..i hate bulk..ive used otters on every phone, and to not use one now feels great. I recommend that case if you're wanting to keep the elegant look of the s7e.

..yet to add a screen protector; just havent been sold on any of them yet. Obviously glass is the way, but until then I don't know that I wanna waste cash in feeble attempts at screen protection. Did I mention the screen is amazing? Well, thats cause it is.

I don't have it all loaded up with the latest and greatest whizzles and whatzles, but I am just not that type of user when it come to mobile devices. I text, email, surf, and sometimes make the occasional phone call. I think thats what kept me locked in to iOS for so long. I was a Basic User, and iOS is for Basic Users.

Edge Panels are legit. They've become more useful than originally thought. The way the EP work with notifications is amazing. I discovered multicolored swipe edges, cause I had 3 separate notifications and hadn't seen this before, blew me away the way you can pull and tuck this right away. I was a fan of iOS when they made their notifications panel usable with reply options etc, but I feel that it has been done correctly with the s7e. Im assuming that is TouchWiz or Android, but job well done regardless.

The overall ability to do what I want with a device is great.

Grabbed a charging pad for it as well; BB had them on sale. I always bug about connectors, and how much use/abuse they get. (one reason i think the G5 will fail) Being able to plop that phone right on the pad and walk away is awesome. Charging rate is fine for me; I don't sit around and gauge those things. Overall the phone charges quickly, both off and on the pad.

By far the most I've ever appreciated a cell phone

I'm also converter from iOS . Just wondering that does the home button supposed to require strong press from the edges for the device to register it? For me it does. Not sure is it supposed to work like that.
Other than that the device is awesome. Few apps sometimes get an error and won't work but after few hours they work again. For example tapatalk.
Camera is in different league than my iPhone was. Still haven't used it that much though.
Battery life is just stellar.

..the home button is "clicky", but I wouldn't call it a strong press.

I wouldn't recommend advanced mods like package disabler until you become comfortable with Android. I have never found the need to disable anything. It can cause unpredictable problems especially if you forget to re-enable before an android update. After you use the phone a few weeks you will feel more secure to experiment... At least that is my opinion. I don't mean to aggravate anybody.

At first I would recommend trying out all the features of the phone itself. Just download the apps you need to do what your iphone did. When you do try out a new app always read user reviews first. Some apps are loaded with adware that is worse than any built in bloat on your phone. It will always show up in user reviews.

Have fun with Android. Experiment with the looks of your home screen. Try some widgets!
