Sooooo it's been more than 6 months since I've bought my S8+ and I'm all in for the new taller aspect ratio. However watching too much 16:9 videos have left some burn-in, specifically 3 distinct lines that are slightly discolored from the rest of the display (one at the status bar, and the the other two are from where the black borders appear when watching 16:9 content).

These are only reaaalllly noticeable when viewing a light-colored image but I can't seem to NOT notice it now that I know it's there. I tried to remedy this by watching those hour-long videos that supposedly fix the uniformity of the smartphone display but since the entirety of the display is turned on then I guess there's really no point and I'm only reducing the uniformity even more; my suggestion would be only that the region where the black borders are would be lit up to lessen the color disparity with the rest of the display.

TL;DR: I have burn-in and how do I deal with it?

If it’s true burn in then there is nothing that you can do. Sounds possible like image retention (which oled displays can get also) and, if so, that could go away in time.
