S8 battery and battery life

Hope they offer a phone without the curved screen.
Tired of the curved screen.

As much as I like Samsung and they charging pad.
I could leave Samsung on the curved screen and Samsung Pay app on my phone.

Samsung is reportedly going for bigger batteries for the Galaxy S8 – BGR

Reportedly, 3250 mAh for the S8 and 3750 mAh for the S8 Plus.

I don't know why i pay attention to BGR, probably because it shows up in my Google cards, but the latest headline bothers me. It reads something like.

"Why the Note 7 disaster is forcing Samsung to make the S8 to be worse".

Obviously it's a click bait headline, but even the logic behind it is questionable. So the batteries are going to be smaller. Somewhere around the ballpark of 3,000 and 3,300 mAh in think (may be slightly higher). But my point is, how about we just wait and see how efficient it is?

Why must BGR write it off as worse? How about, "How the Note 7 disaster forced Samsung to set a higher standard in terms of safety and efficiency on the S8".

BGR is basically the National Enquirer of tech news. They have as close to 0% journalistic integrity as you can get without being a comic book.

I agree that BGR sucks. I do think anything less than this year is going to be worse or maybe the same if these rumors are true. Samsung is always gonna say it's optimized. They said that crap with the S6, and you see the next year they upped the battery big time because it just wasn't good enough. The reality is, Android just needs big batteries. If they would stop worrying about how thin these devices are, we can still have big batteries AND not worry about explosions.

For people who use their phones for work, we need at least 10-12 hours of hard use battery life.

I bet making the phone 0.5-1mm thicker would allow a decent amount larger battery.
