S8 changing dates of events on google calendar

I have an S8 and love it, but for the past week or so it has started displaying many of the events from my calendar on the wrong days. For example, I might put a meeting down for Friday at 2pm and it will show up on the web correctly (on my computer or if I log into google on the phone through the browser), but the calendar app will show the event on Thursday or Saturday instead of Friday. I downloaded a different calendar app and it also shuffled the dates on the same events. Anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?

Check the Calendar app's general settings, as well as the settings for your Google Calendar on the web -- make sure they're both set to the correct time zone. Things can get messed up if you've been recently traveling outside your time zone.

Thank you B. Diddy, you saved the day! I hadn't realized the calendar app had its own time zone setting, but that was exactly the problem. I'd been abroad a few weeks back and that somehow must have triggered it. Choosing "use the device's time zone" solved the problem. You rock!
