So I got the largest one they have, the 8500 mAh battery - the phone plugs into it.

It took me 12 hours to discharge the phone to zero, with light usage and it appeared that the external ZeroLemon 8500 mAh cell wasn't even used at all. All 4 lights light up at the rear, as if it were fully charged at the end of the day.

I thought, combined, I should get a lot more runtime, not 12 hours with not much screen time or any apps like youtube, etc. We are talking about 12,000 mAh (8500 mAh in the extended ZeroLemon and 3500 mAh in the default internal battery).

On the other hand, this is strange, because I can charge the internal battery via the external battery. So the charging device is working at least on a physical layer. It just that it seems the phone discharges without pointing to the external ZeroLemon battery, which is strange.

Are there are some configuration changes I need to make? Calibrate the battery maybe?
Or could it be the external battery needs a lot more than 7 hours of charging? I charged it for 7 hours and figured that was sufficient.

I can try this trick. Fully charge the ZeroLemon battery. Remove the fully charged phone. Deplete the phone. Stick it in the ZeroLemon device. See if I get more runtime out of it.

Some of these battery packs need to be started manually, they don't automatically charge.... Mine have buttons I have to push

And that was the answer. I've had many ZeroLemon batteries that replaced internal batteries, but this one is different. You have to turn it on.
