Hello,

My life sucks right now and i hope someone can turn it around for me.
I love my new S8+ especially coming from the iPhone 7 plus. But I have a big issue with the volume. Actually TWO big issues.

1) The EU volume limit is too low. It's so ridiculously low that when im in the street its literally unusable. The traffic noise is louder than the sound of my audiobook or spotify. Any one know how to solve this ? Maybe root ? Good thing is I have Exynos so i can root

2) The problem is described above is when I used the cable EarPods by apple or the AKG by samsung. But the worst is that when I plug the bluetooth AirPods, things get even worse !!! The max volume on the AirPods is about half of what I get with the cable earphones!

Please help!!!!!!
And please dont tell me to buy better quality beats. Im perfectly happy with the quality of the sounds of my AirPods on any other devices, but the S8 volume is simply too low !!

Help help help

Funny you say this....I used my Airpods for the first time today, paired with my S8. Completely agree, the volume is terrible. Unless there's a 3rd party app that can assist, there's zero chance of a fix being created.

Arghh, this makes me so angry. Other bluetooth devices work fine ? What about rooting, do you think this could be an option ?

Found the fix (to problem number 2)! For anyone else that gets this problem:
Settings < connections < Bluetooth < top right corner 3 dots for more options < media volume sync (turn on)
Then your AirPods will play fine again. EU volume still a problem for me though

It worked. Thanks!

found the fix, let me know if it works for you

Hi Steven,

I'm having the same issue but with AirPods & a Pixel XL. Please note that I am not seeing a "Media Volume Sync" selection in the Pixel.

Any other suggestions? This issue is driving me nuts...

Thanks,
Christian.

Fixing the problem is simply understanding what media synch is. You have 2 volume controls, one is the app in question (so if I am using poweramp, poweramp is volume control number 1 ) and the second is the volume for the bluetooth device (MOST support volume levels, some cheap speakers may NOT). Media synch volume alternates between upping the 2 volume bars when you press UP/Down volume as to give you a better range of volume clicks.

The problem you guys seems to be having is the bluetooth device volume is low and the pods have no manual controls on them. So when pressing up/down on the volume the slider will appear, quickly tap the down arrow on the right side to view ALL available volume sliders and one of those sliders should be bluetooth.

Great tip. Another post had recommended turning on this from developer options and I did this, but it hadn't fixed it. Saw your post and from the bluetooth options I turned it off and on and that toggle fixed it. The volume didn't change for what was playing, but the volume meter popped up and instead of being at max volume it was about 3/4 max (right where the volume warning appears when you're turning up the volume). Was able to not only crank up the airpods to a nice loud level, but painfully loud, so understandable why that's off by default.

Thank you so much now I can shut out stupid Rachel and Gray in the morning on my bus to school

I turned on the media sync volume control, but now every time i go from a telephone call back to music, the volume is BLASTING. So loud that my heart skips a beat and my ears hurt... (doesn't help that I am usually listening to metal) It stays this loud until i toggle the volume switch and it immediately resets itself.
Any idea if there is a fix for this secondary issue? It makes my pods almost unusable. I can't switch from phone to music without taking them out every time to re-toggle the volume to reset it?

So far, i am disappointed in many aspects of my airpods but it's too late to take em back.

found the solution just go to settings - - Bluetooth - - turn off the dual Bluetooth (comes in s8 s9 s10 and maybe others) and turn on sync sound media volume sync and done
thank me later

Hi everyone,
i have tried the Media volume sync feature on my S8 and it shows up as "not supported by bluetooth device". I am unable to turn it on with my AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro.
Pleas help!!!
