Android Central Question
I have an S8, not S9... sorry, I didn't see an S8 board :-( But I'm hoping they're similar enough that the same logic applies.
I'd like to use my mobile hotspot for my home internet, but I can't find a way to throttle certain programs or set QoS rules. I have limited data and really don't need a 30M connection for Pandora, email, etc, when 1M would be fine. So I'm trying to find a way to throttle each program.
I also have an older Honeywell thermostat that doesn't recognize the WPA2 PSK connection, it only recognizes WPA.
My old DSL router (Netgear D6200) has QoS rules set up and my thermostat recognized it, so it would be great if I could channel my phone through it as a modem. But the router doesn't recognize it, and plugging it in to the USB port on the router doesn't seem to do anything but charge the phone. I turned on Mobile Hotspot & Tethering > USB tethering, but the router didn't recognize it.
Can you guys and gals suggest a way to either throttle specific programs, set up QoS rules, or (best option) use my phone as a modem with my router?
