I really liked the Swype keyboard that came with my Galaxy S5. My S8+ has a "Samsung Swipe" keyboard that is annoyingly different.

1) I used to enter ? and ! by swiping m to the space bar and a to the spacebar respectively. Those actions now produce "mmm" and "a".

2) The new keyboard inserts undesired double-spaces all over the place.

3) The word suggestions will replace words without my say-so. The S5 keyboard you had to click the suggestion. I want the suggestions, but I want to select the word or ignore.

Is it possible to get the S5 Swype keyboard on the S8?

Thanks,

You can get the Swype keyboard from the Play Store I think it is 99 cents. The problem with the version that came with the S5 is that it would never be updated. I had the same issue on the Note 4 the built in version of Swype never got updates. Using the Play Store version you'll have all the latest updates. If you really like using the swipe method of typing there isnt a better keyboard than Swype. I've gone back and forth between Swype, Swiftkey, and Gboard and always go back to Swype.
