S8+ locks up when I go to wake it up.

Anyone else experience this scenario? My phone is asleep, I hit the power button to wake it up, it starts to wake up but where you get the number pad to enter you code to unlock the phone is extremely faint and not responsive. Only thing I can do is hold down the power button for about 8 seconds and it forces the phone to restart (don't even see the selection for power off/restart/emergency mode). It's happened twice now in about a week and a half and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I got my S8+ on launch day and I'm with T-Mobile, this is the only problem I've ever had with the phone.
