S8+ must have taken on a little to much water. Anyone have additional tips to resolve this?

The device will power up but the touch screen does not seem to work. Also it powers down and says it is to hot and must power off, it is not hot to touch.

I have tried burring the S8+ in rice and even put the container on the dashboard of my car in the direct sunlight, but still not working properly.

Any additional suggestions would be appreciated?

I waited 2 full days to turn it back on and it did come back up but again the touch screen did not work. That's when I turned it off again and tried the tub of rice on the car dashboard in the sun. Still no luck.

Man I'm sorry to hear this. How much water did you have it in? Did you simply dunk it or all out swim with it?

I don't think water ingestion is covered by warranty. It only takes a nanosecond to short something out in the device and that can fatally damage the microchip that's involved. Sounds like you have two issues, one is the screen and the other is the usb port.
I'd take it to repair shop where they have the equipment to dismantle and test the phone (without wrecking it), perhaps clean it out a bit.
Take out the SD card and see if you still have data /files on it... Good luck!

Wonder how much water went in... Cos 30 mins upto 1.5 meters is good for water resistant... I suggest try to blow dry your phone and keep it off for more 2 days

I did use a blow dryer initially to dry it off and removed the cards. not sure how long it was surrounded in water. Was at the beach so this may be compounded by being salt water. USB seems to work fine I can charge it just fine, but can't use it since the touchscreen does not respond.

Will defiantly make the insurance claim with the high deductible and that is bad enough but it is the hours of customization that may not come back completely in tack even with Nova.

Plug it into computer and remotely control it through Samsung app to back up Nova profile to SD card perhaps? Forgot name of Samsung app but it lets you see phone screen and point and click on it with computer.

But that is in regular water and completely still. Not moving around or anything else that adds pressure to the phone and certainly not salt water or pool water (with chlorine and whatever else)

I've (carefully) taken mine in the pool a few times and even (again, carefully) taken some underwater shots. Phone is fine with no issues the only annoyance is having to wait several hours before you can charge it again. I'd never take this out on the beach if I was going to be swimming

The S8 is not certified for salt water at all so that is what mist of damaged your phone. It's certified for still clean water, not moving as the pressure would cause for the water to break the seal. This phone is water resistant but definitely not water proof. There's a big difference. I hope you can get your phone fixed or at least get a replacement. Just know that you can't dunk your phone in salt or chlorine waters.

Yeah I have used my s7 edge and G6 in sea water but after I was done I washed it again under tap water and phone was fine... I guess u should have washed it under tap water after the sea water

I think you're talking about Samsung's SideSync. The issue with that is that the phone app needs to be set up before you can link it to the PC app. If you haven't already done that, I'm not sure how it can be accomplished with the display not working.

Have you ever tried "damp rid" from Lowes or home depot... Rice is good... But using something that is designed to absorb moisture may work better!

Salt water is bad as is leaving on the dash in a hot car to try to dry it out. Your device may have hardware defects now.
