Noticed them today. I've never had an issue with this on my iPhone before so I've never purchased screen protectors. Anyone else have minor scratches on the display from something in your pocket? Thankfully I only have two and they aren't very noticable.

I've had the galaxy phones from S2 through to the S8 and never scratched any of them. I never put anything else in the pocket where the phone is, and never put it face down unless it's a padded surface like a book or such...

I have some fine scratches myself.

I don't even get upset anymore. I don't use a screen protector and I understand that dirt and sand are everywhere...Esp in my pocket apparently.

it's not horrible but once I see those minor scratches you just always look in that area or at least I do. They aren't bad, very minor so probably sand or something in my pocket.

I assume it's guys on here putting it in their pockets? I have a sleeve, and I carry my phones in my bag, purse, or in the sleeve and just hold it - only nude in home - I will watch for abrasive surfaces though - come to think of it - the only time I see a guy with a case is those heavy otter box or some generic holster pouch lol -

Lol. Thank goodness I would not be one of them. When I use a case I have always used something low profile or very slim. I alao use a front screen protector which is a liquid glass by skinomi and I ordered a back Red Skin to protect the back. I'm about 50/50 on a case and I know one of those 50s I'm playing with some hot fire for how expensive this phone was. Maybe this thread will make me use my cases more often but the fortunate news is you won't see me with a huge bulky case nor a holster lol so I can avoid being laughed at. Lol.

Samsung LED case works for me. I wouldn't trust it for a drop but for sliding in and out of my pocket it is great. Unlike my leather wallet case, you can fold it and text almost as if it isn't there.

if its not an environment where I would want to drop my phone I wouldnt take it - a sleeve for outside travel is about it - I don't like cases and screen protector - bare - it takes away from the design element - I tossed my note 5 around forgetting it was glass lol no screen scratches no cracks I had the clear case thingy but it got old fast I just prefer nudity...even @ home. I dont wear clothes - I usually run for a robe when FedEx or UPS delivers, often just peeking from the back of the door -

They had a black one on Amazon "refurbished". For $22 - I decided on a $9.99 sleeve

None on mine -- but my phone goes into a dedicated pocket with nothing else in it so that may be part of it.

I have a Zagg HD Dry screen protector and an Otterbox Strada....possibly getting the Defender today though. I am so OCD about scratches.

The scratches on my display weren't exactly visible unless you shined a light right on top of the display. Not extremely noticeable so it doesn't bother me, and I'm usually cranky about any dents, scratches, scuffs, etc on my phone.

Mine had minor microscopic scratches within a day or two of purchase but after that haven't seen it got worse. It's been fine and whatever it is not putting screen protectors on beautiful smartphone screens and spoil the feel of glass by putting additional layers on it.

Out of many phones I have, S8+ is the one which easily got minute scratches from no where and yeah I'm careful with my device, put in my left pocket where there is nothing else and in general try to be careful.

So far no scratches of any kind on mine. My left pocket is dedicated to my phone and most of the time its on a table. I have dropped a few things on my screen which I thought would have scratched it but so far so good.

I just noticed when wiping my screen there is a tiny CHIP! I thought it was dirt but after extreme investigation, it's definitely a chip. My question is will this spread now? Or do you think I will be fine? I can live with the chip but if it starts spreading i'm going to be PISSED!

It might just be the oleophobic coating. Try rubbing with a soft cloth. If it disappears after wiping but comes back after you rub your finger over the spot, it might be the coating.

I asked this in another thread, but is there a way to reapply oleophobic coating?
