Honestly, if Samsung includes S Pen or maybe N-Trig pen (or both) support, that it would give it a leg up. Samsung doesn't have to include the pen with the device. Just support it and then sell the pen separately. This seems to have worked for both Microsoft and Apple.
If Samsung doesn't include S Pen support, that won't be a deal breaker for me. I had a Note II and a Note 10.1 a while back and I wasn't a fan of the S Pen. The pen didn't feel right to me and trying write on a small (5.5") screen was awkward. I really like how Microsoft designed its Surface Pen. It feels like a real pen and is much more comfortable to use.
I just like the specs and the direction Samsung is going with its Galaxy S line of phones.
