I just returned my unlocked S8+ to Samsung for repair for black screen and flickering issues. Love this phone after nine years of Apple. However, I took without of my pocket one day and found the screen black and unresponsive. This has gotten more frequent. Flickering started as well anytime I'd set it down on my desk. I went through all the steps prescribed in the Samsung+ app, starting from soft reset, hard reset, safe and recovery modes, and factory reset. Even after the reset the phone screen both flickered and went all black during setup. Anyone else seen this? And if so, how did Samsung treat You? Completely over Apple's nonsense and love Android at this point but don't want to deal with recurring issues if that's what's about to happen. Really don't want to go phone hunting as one of the many reasons I left Apple was to find a phone that could last over one year. To update, Samsung says the repair part is unavailable and on backorder, but can't say what the part is. Their turnaround time keeps changing as well. Could this be a blanket concept to cover lots of defective devices?

Thanks!

I've never used Samsung Service. Have read different opinions regarding satisfaction/dissatisfaction with them. Regardless, I don't believe your experience shows signs of any big cover up.
Really hope you have a good outcome.
