Gif doesn't work for me using textra. I tried system and legacy in MMS settings.
It fails on sending. It's a gif I saved off the internet in my gallery. I select to share it, select textra and it goes to send but after awhile it fails. What do you mean it doesn't work? Can you elaborate a bit? Gif support is built into the app, and if you use Google keyboard you then have 2 options for gifs (Google keyboard being the superior option because you can search quicker and easier) ... Is it just not loading or sending or what?

Actually, even with the Google keyboard gifs, I also periodically experience this failure to send. It's only on certain gifs. Most others I choose send with no issue. I'm thinking it's just that particular gif you're trying to send. I'm not sure why that happens though. Try some other gifs, or if you need that particular one then search for another download of it or use the built in gif option in Textra or even better search for it with Google keyboard, and see how that goes.
I usually just use Samsung link share to do it. They aren't large files, it makes no sense you can't just send thru texting in the first place IMO.Actually, even with the Google keyboard gifs, I also periodically experience this failure to send. No, should not have to do that, I just do what works.Should never have to use link share for gifs.
Absolutely. At least with Samsung link you can send it to any phone, does not have to be a Samsung phone your sending it to.we need a universal standard !! compatible across all mobile platform/devices - anything less than is corporate greed and business strategy...
So, do most people here use the stock Samsung messaging application, or a 3rd party application?
I used to use Textra. As I've said before the only massive thing that I find wrong with Textra is that when you go to send that a lot of picture or video messages at once it takes forever or just fails to send most of the content unfortunately. I'm using Verizon messaging plus and it's other advantages it'll cross sync for your desktop and your smartphone. It's a nice feature.I myself use Textra. I purchased a while back and use it on whatever phone I'm using.
I've had no issues with Textra myself, but my needs are simple. I just like the customization options in Textra and a few of the other features. I don't even know if I could install Messaging Plus as I'm on Verizon prepaid.
They should be.Shouldn't these be merged?
