S8 to S20 or S20+

I'm ready to upgrade my S8 because of the declining battery life. Other than that, I still love it! I can't decide whether to move to the S20 or S20+ though. I'm on Sprint, so I don't think the mmWave stuff is a huge deal.. I do like the bigger battery of the S20+ but wonder if the bigger screen would make them about even? Size isn't a huge issue as I'm fine with the size of my S8.. I can get the S20 for $599 or the S20+ for $799. Is the extra $200 worth it?

I went from s9+ to S20+. I did try the regular S20, and wanted to go to a bigger screen. I think that the regular s20 screen is bigger than the S8's, but the phone itself is about the same size, so you may really like it. I would try and go to a store, and hold both of them. (I know in a covid world, that may be hard to do.)

I'm a Note 9 owner who has been thinking of adding a newer device to.my line up. The S20 FE was on my radar but after all of the complaints of touch screen issues and poor quality front camera I scratched it off of the list for the time being. The S20 plus can be had for nearly the same price so I am considering it. With the upcomingaunch of the S21 may wait to see what that has to offer or how it effects the pricing of the S20 plus.

Yeah, I bought my dad the FE and I'm a bit concerned with the touchscreen issue. Hopefully they can get it fixed.

I saw the s21 was coming out but it doesn't look like it will be much of an upgrade over the s20. I was thinking of waiting until Black Friday, but right now they are $300 off w/o a trade, and I don't really see them getting much lower than that. I think last year 2-300 off was about what they were giving w/o a trade.

Yeah, I can get it for $599, which isn't terrible, but the plus is only $200 more lol. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth the extra $200

At the time I got my FE I had a chance to get the S20+ for only $50 more, I think it was. I still chose the FE because I wanted the flat screen, the matte back (plastic? I don't fully buy that glass became a "premium" substance 4 or 5 years ago), the size, and what I figured would probably be at least a little bit better battery life.

^I agree on the glass VS plastic thing. People keep pointing to that as a reason the fe is $500 cheaper. "glass is more premium that's why it's so cheap!". As if a 6" piece of glass costs so much more than plastic LOL.

FE is the way to go. I keep seeing people say "well I can get the exynos version with no warranty for the same price!". Which has a smaller screen, fragile build quality, worse battery, worse processor, same cameras.. . And yeah no warranty. I just don't get it.

I switched from the s8+ to the fe and love it.
