S8+ vs Note10+

So I stopped by my local Tmo store to checkout the note10+. Not bad looking, the YT app doesn't take advantage of the full screen(same way on my s8+, black bars on sides) the displays seemed virtually the same. With both devices set to 1440p resolution with a 1080p video in landscape there was any difference.

So aside from the spending features and specs on paper, what's the real difference to make it worth jumping to?

Note: the lack of 3.5 jack is no issue for me

Better battery life for sure, I wasn't impressed with my S8+'s batt life. Double the ram, better sounding speakers, better camera, and the s pen to name a few things.

Did you zoom the screen out in YouTube? Then it will go full screen. Two fingers swiped away from each other and the opposite to zoom back in.

I'm not sure I'd frame (no pun intended) it that way. If you do zoom as suggested above, while you will fill up the screen, you are cutting off parts of the video.

I'm also going from an S8+ to a Note 10+. For me it came down to three things.

1. Battery Life - My S8+ is only getting around 2 - 3 hours of battery before needing to be plugged in again. Granted, I use it for work and I use it quite heavily but I'd like to get more life out of it before needing to plug in again. This kind of leads to the second item.

2. The wireless charging on my S8+ stopped working a few months ago. First world problems, I know, but going from the ease of just dropping my phone on a charging pad for a top up to having to physically plug it in when I need to charge it up is a hassle I don't really want to have to worry about.

3. Since I do use it for work quite a bit, I've got a lot of passwords for various systems. Being able to use a finger print to access those systems is a real life saver but the positioning of the finger print sensor on the S8+ is awkward to say the least. I'm really looking forward to the under screen finger print sensor, even if it doesn't always work on the first try.

Hope this helps, even if just a little bit.

So you want them to distort the video aspect ratio, making everything look weird to fill the screen?

Huh? I think you misread my post. I was pointing out to the OP that youtube "taking advantage" (as he put it) of the entire screen would mean you wouldn't see everything in the video, as zooming would crop things out (or as you point to, you'd have to distort the video by stretching it). So in other words, it wouldn't be a good feature...and certainly not something to complain about.
