S8+ with Gear VR 2016

I have a 2016 Gear Vr that came with the USB C adapter in the box. I had no success with my s8plus. It was too tall but if you guys are saying you got it to fit then ill try it again.

Did you move the position on the headset to position a?

Can anyone point me at the web page where I can buy the 2017 Gear VR (With controller) in the UK (SM-R324)?
There seems to be a couple of retailers selling at premium prices, but nothing from Samsung:

Here is one at £129.99 which seems a little steep, especially as it is almost identical to the SM-R323 (except with Controller) which retails at less than half this price.

I also have the 2016 Gear VR .. Samsung Galaxy S8+ .. definitely a tight fit, however, I played with it for a couple hours .. installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled .. for the life of me, I can not get any sound out of my phone when it's connected to the Gear VR !!

Anyone run into that issue ?
