Hi all-

Having my Bluetooth disconnect on my S9.

I do have a Galaxy s3 frontier watch which I thought was causing the problem but it is not. Even when not connected via BT, the phone still disconnects. I have an app the requires BT connection and I get notified that BT is off every time it goes out. I don't believe its the app causing it either.

This issue just started happening about a week ago. I have done all of the following except for number 7.

How to fix Samsung Galaxy S9 Bluetooth Issues
Method 1: Toggle Bluetooth.
Method 2: Add as a Smart Lock Device.
Method 3: Reboot your Device.
Method 4: Wipe Cache Partition of your Android Device.
Method 5: Reset Network Settings on your Samsung Galaxy S9.
Method 6: Factory Reset your Device.
Method 7: Contact Samsung Service Center.

I am on the most current update (android 10) and all apps are up to date. I have not installed any apps recently. Whats also strange is that my wife's S9 does it randomly as well, just not as often as mine.

If anyone can help with this, that would be great.

Lets see, answers to the three posts:

I'm pretty sure its not the App (State Farm drive safe app) it only pops up to tell me the BT is not connected and that it needs to be connected in order to record data. (not that I'm going anywhere these days)

It toggles off, I can actually look at the phone and see the BT turn off and then turn back on.

Bluetooth history only shows that the Gears S plugin back on April 10th.

Interesting to note for today is that I have not tried to connect the watch via BT and I don't believe my BT has shut off so now I'm back to thinking maybe the watch is the root of the problem somehow. It's weird though that even after I would disconnect my watch from BT it would still disconnect on the phone.

Is the watch lte ? If not maybe thats why it disconnect from bt when you turn off , also can you clear gear s from Bluetooth history?

No, not LTE. I can't seem to clear it, but in the history, it says it turned on BT. I did have BT disconnect again after i sent the post, but only once that I know of. I hadn't had the watch on BT all day. I'm going to try putting on BT again later and see how long it last before disconnecting. If starts right away, then I'll know it's more likely the watch then anything else.

Ok ..let us know

Alright Turned BT on watch and within a few minutes, less than 10, BT disconnected. I turned off BT and it has seemed to be steady on the phone. I went out and phone connected to car as it should so I'm guessing maybe it is the watch after all and had no BT disconnect while in the car.

Guess I'll head over to the Samsung Smartwatches section.

Thanks Everyone for your time and input. I'm usually pretty savvy and usually find answers at AC if I can't find it anywhere else.

Hey Mustang-- I don't think so. Back to theory of BT issue on phone and possibly an issue with the watch as I can see the BT turn off without doing anything when wearing the watch.

After a bit more playing around, troubleshooting and general observation, I have determined the BT disconnection gets worse when I use the phone while wearing the watch. If I set the phone down and don't use it, it won't disconnect. Almost immediately after picking up the phone, it starts disconnecting. Sometimes 2-3 times in a 5 minute span. Set down the phone, it stops disconnecting. Watch and phone can sit next to each other and not disconnect. Only when I use the phone.

If and when the stay at home order in my state is lifted, I'm going to go to uBreakiFix (authorized Samsung Service Center) and have them run a diagnostic. Until then, I guess I'm gonna have to deal with it.

Thanks!

Wasn't there an issue, not recalling which bt version, which got dc'd when too close to its paired device?

Something turning it off and that Bluetooth history should give you indication what happening.
