I’m looking at getting either a Galaxy Note 9 or S9+. I’m currently using an IPhone X, but looking to get away from iOS. Honestly used a note before for a short period and didn’t use spen for much except to doodle. Specs are very similar between the two with ram etc and currently S9+ is on sale for 735 for 64gb or 789 for 128gb. I have no need for 512gb. I know Note has slightly bigger display and flatter display and bigger battery and slightly better cooling, but I don’t game on my phone. Should I be fine with S9+ or spend the extra $300 for Note Thanks for your help

Honestly both are great. It comes down to battery life in your case it sounds like. The screen is better on the note and the battery is bigger. You'll be happy either way.

Cant really go wrong either way. Are you buying outright or financing? If buying outright might as well save some money and go with S9+. If you are financing then I'd just spend the few extra bucks a month and go Note 9.

If you have the money, get the Note9. The S9+ is the better value right now, though.
Personally, I don't like the S screens. It's whatever your preference is.

Having owned both now, note 9 no matter the cost. the battery is amazing and the s pen is fun to use.

So for $13 more per month you get the bigger battery, screen, S-Pen, etc. Sounds like a no brainer.

Another factor that might not matter to you but does to many of us is that if you get the S9 then come next March or April the s9 will be old because the s10 will be out!

If you have the Note 9 you will still have a fairly new phone that isn't as much behind the S10 as the S9 will be. The Note 9 will still be Samsung's premier device until the Note 10 comes out. Unless they plan on nixing the Note and the S10 has the Spen and is basically the Note 10.

I don't look at my Note8 being old. The only thing I may worry about getting an S9 right now are the updates you will receive. If you plan on keeping it for 2+ years, you need to take that into account.
As much as people might love their Note5 or S7, you aren't getting any more updates.

I had the S9+ and now the Note 9.....Note 9 for me. I hit 8 hours on screen time today with 3% left, and I use that S-pen alot, and 2mm difference in screen size doesn't seem like alot but , I can totally tell the difference, and I prefer the bigger screen.

Do you have any battery saving hacks in place? 8 hours SOT is awesome!

I am..... Well, whenever Best Buy gets my 8/14 preorder in....

Bigger display

Less curved corners and edges

Mo' battery

Almost no throttling under sustained load

Mo' storage

All smack talking though, until I get the thing.
