S9+ Poor Reception

Just upgraded from S6 to S9+, however the reception is dramatically poor comparatively.

Koodo, the phone provider, asked change the LTE to 3G to improve signal/reception, however at the cost of lower download speed.

Anything I can do to improve signal/reception?

I changed from an LG V30 to the S9 plus for better reception. The S9plus is on average 10 dbm better than my old V30.

Went from an S7 edge to the S9+ and is much improved.
