S9 software updated and now all my contacts are gone

Updated software today, Feb 20,2019, and contacts are missing

try restarting phone
where were the contacts saved? google account or phone?

If you go to contacts and on the left side you will see three lines click on them and you will find a group samsung, phone, sim look in there.
