Hi everyone
i'm having a speaker issue.
when using a phone, top speaker sounded ok.
but when i use speaker for hands free operation......i can hear bottom speaker ...but the top speaker ...(its fade in and out) or don't hear at all as if its sometime work and sometime not. if i hold the phone at an angle i can hear from the top speaker majority of the time.

i also tried the hw test menu by entering * # 0 * # and check the speaker volume separately or together (top/bottom) speaker and they sound fine.
any feedback is appreciated.

the service tech already replaced PBA for a different issue ...apparently did not fix speaker issue.

in safe mode the same way...when a phone is tilted in certain ways you can hear top/bottom speaker otherwise only the bottom speaker is heard. Again i notice this when dialing out and tap on a speaker for hand-free operation.

Have you checked if the top speakers are free from lint, dirt anything else?

phone is less than 3 months old and i just noticed a month ago.
i complain to samsung tech and send in the phone my mail.

I have a s9+ ..i had my speakers get stuff in it and clean with a toothbrush.

so is it true when making a call using hands-free speaker mode...both top/bottom speaker can be heard?

could you please do me a favor and test your S9+ by calling someone (live or recording) and see if you can hear the top speaker on your phone when chose a hands-free mode.

Sure , I'll get home later on and report back

I believe the proximity sensor has something to do with it -- I noticed if you hold it a certain way or to close the top speaker will turn off

ear piece speaker on top doesn't work when put on loud speaker for call , you only have your top and bottom mic for other person to hear you and bottom fire speaker to listen other party

actually in my phone that's not true when I have speakerphone on the top ear piece becomes a loudspeaker just like the bottom but if I hold it too close to me the top speaker stops and I think they do that for hearing sensitivity.

Your correct, I had build up in my s9 + ear speaker that's why I couldn't hear it well.
But I tested this on S10+, note 9,s9+ , note 10+ last night both ear piece and bottom speakers play in speaker mode .

THEPRFCT10, thanks for mentioning this.
:) OMG
and i thought the top speaker was intermittent.
I was recently send out w/ a NEW replacement by WM as a courtesy. Very nice young lady.
the 2nd phone act the same way. After i read your message ...i tried this....
as my phone is move slightly away from my face...the top speaker turn on.
if my ear is near the top speaker ...only bottom speaker is heard.

The 1st phone...often have call issue. when i tried to dial out...it pop up emgency call only.
after 5 attempts with different numbers it work again.

also i was using my phone as a dash cam using autoBOY ...i won't do it again...this caused the phone to heat up and shutoff the app.
