Like the title says, is it a worthy upgrade to jump from a S9 to the 10? Why or why not?

You can get a mint S9 on swappa right now for $350, or a mint S10 for $650.

i would say its not.as Note 10 is coming soon and S10 price is gonna drop even more.and honestly what does the S10 have and the S9 doesnt?reverse wireless charging?fast wireless charging 2.0?better cameras?

if your S9 is still doing good then you should wait for the Note 10 to come out then get an S10.saves more money.

Hmmm, since I only recently purchased my S9 and still diggin' it, there doesn't seem to be enough of a wow factor difference for me to get the S10. Since I'm used to previously having a Note 2, 3, and 4, a new Note 10 could potentially sway me in that direction in the future. But then again, how often do I really pull out the stylus pen?

This right here. I have a Note 8 that I'm selling. Why? Want to downsize and don't use the stylus enough. Thinking of picking up a S9 to replace it with.

For me, it's sufficient to do a simple screenshot and a quick drawing with my finger (such as an arrow, circle, or yellow highlight) with my S9. I don't really need to do precise writing that requires a Note series phone. It was certainly fun to do a bunch of stylus pen drawings when I first got my Note 2 phone years ago, especially to show off to my iPhoney toting friends, haha! But the novelty wore off long ago.

If you're interested in the S10, Bestbuy has $300 off the unlocked version. That would make the S10e $449, S10 $599 and S10+ $699. You can use those phones in any carrier.

Yes. And you can get an S9 for around $300 cheaper, either used or new. That's why I'm asking if there $300 worth of difference. If it's not justifiable, I'll just grab an S9.

The S10 is not worth $300 more than the S9 for an upgrade if you don't need all the new features. The wide angle camera and reverse charging are nice, but not necessary. If you are big into taking videos, the S10 could be a good thing. The crazy stability option they have makes it seem like you have your phone on a steady cam harness...it really is that good. I upgraded because the trade-in for my S9+ was so insanely high, plus I got the earbuds and the $50 store credit...and I like to get a new phone every year. :)

The reverse wireless charging is nice if you have a samsung gear watch and travel...you don't have to bring a charger. It is also nice for charging the ear buds...but is not necessary. The S10 doesn't have enough juice to share your juice with someone else...although you could have your phone plugged in and charge someone else's iPhone on top of yours while it charges...pretty cool.

No one can truly answer that question because everyone has different values on the features and even momentary value. Both devices will mostly likely meet your needs. It's more a question of how much the extra 300 means to you.

Probably not. I loved my S9+; hardware mania made me move to S10+. Frankly, they're the same phone in day to day working. I coulda saved me $450.

Can an Unlocked S9+ do wifi calling on Verizon though? Last I looked, the S9's were still having a problem with this.

Verizon was able to turn on wifi calling for my Unlocked S10+ bought directly from Samsung.

Other than the hideous asthetics of the s9. Not a whole lot.

Never really worried about asthetics. Not real sure why so many people get caught up with that and colors and all. 90% of people put some type of case on it any way. All you really see is the screen. To each their own though.

Going back several years, sure, it was worth it to upgrade every year. These days, not so much. The hardware improvement is slowing down a lot. Even in the desktop arena. I'd say, unless there is a problem with your current phone that in order to fix it you are looking at a new phone anyway, then I'd skip it.

The problem is, T-Mobile is still rapidly changing out the frequencies they use.

That alone can make or break the decision.

Went ahead and picked up an S9. Didn't see the $300 difference. Thanks!
Great choice, you really aren't getting much bang for your buck with the s10. Keep in mind, the s10 brought a lot of new tech with the phone. Under screen fingerprint reader, wide angel lens, reverse charging, camera stability, low light, edge to edge screen, and longer battery life. But lot of has to do with it's first iteration. Note 10 will expand on it by offering 45w fast charging, an improved screen fingerprint scanner and hopefully better software. My guess is the s11 will be a show stopper. It will improve on all of these features. I would wait for the s11 lineup. Stay with the s9 for now since you just purchased it for a pretty good price and upgrade to the s11 when it comes out.
