Insurance isn't required where you are? Alltel and Verizon both require insurance on all smartphones.

Same here, I am with Verizon and they did not force me to get insurance either.

your credit card might partly cover it? for example, amex purchase protection offers 90 days of protection (up to the amount you charge on the card) if something is stolen or accidentally damaged (amex platinum also covers something that's lost).

Sorry to hear that man...if I were you I would call att and ask for an insurance override..making it seem like u had asked for insurance as of when u got the phone before if that's what u had tried..and maybe they can override the insurance for u if possible..but I can't guarantee they will do it..but its worth a shot man
