Safe to update on optimus with custom recovery + root?

So one phone has thunderom with custom recovery and it's rooted. Is it safe to accept the update if I DO NOT want to root afterwards?

Also, I tried to recover back to stock on two phones, and when they were done, I cleared one via privacy reset and got bricked. So for the other phone which is on the same boat, is it safe to update? Again, not wanting to root or anything

If you're wanting to update the ThundeROM phone to LS670ZVC, you'd better go back to stock V9 and update from there. In my opinion, installing an OTA update over a custom ROM can lead to some costly failures.

But someone on the other thread wrote that if you update, it'll install LG's recovery on it again. Any idea if it'll be okay? Someone please tell me

The only way we can assure you it will be OK is if you follow the correct path...Revert to Stock V8, upgrade to V9, upgrade to VC.

Anything else you do is up to you, and your mileage may vary.

I know it sucks, but it'll take some effort.

Follow this path:
1. Install Titanium Backup from market and backup all your data
2. Zefie's stickied guide to unrooting/returning to stock (includes proper way of updating)
3. Drew Walton's stickied guide to rooting VC.
4. Reinstall custom recovery.
5. Reinstall Thunderom and Titanium Backup, then restore data!

I'm unable to mess with these phones since I'm away so I wanna make them go back to the stock entirely, and I followed back to stock tutorial, and tried privacy reset thinking it's fresh, and got bricked again
