Same picture for every contact...

Ok, I have to admit, this is silly to me, but a friend of mine has mentioned that she absolutely hates the Android cartoon character.

So, once you get past that, she was asking if there is a way to have all contacts have the same picture. I told her she could go to all of her contacts in Gmail and set the picture, but that obviously is not an option when you have a ton of contacts.

So, figured I would post it here to see if anyone has any ideas on this. She is on an EVO 4G.

Weeellll.. technically you can. But you gotta dig into the framework and change the default contact picture...

Her phone will need to be rooted, then, you'll have to pull the framework from the phone, locate the default android Icon, and replace it with something else... like... i dunno. anyway, it can be done..

There are couple of ROMs out that actual change the character used so it can be done not sure what file needs to be changed but I have seen it done.

The only way is to manually do it as I stated before. By pulling the image from the framework, editing it to however you want, resigning the apk and pushing it back. Now.. if you have an idea of what you would want as the image, I can always do it for you...

All I would need is the following:

I need to know what ROM you're using so I know where to get the framework from.
I'd then need to know what type of image you're trying to get, or even better if you already had an image cuz all I would have to do is basically just swap the image
Then I can edit the image, resign it and email it back. At that point all you would have to do is two commands.. adb remount then adb push <filename> and you're all set.

So just let me know..

as soon as I get Myn'sWarm2.2 I want this image to replace the robot...

is there any way to make the all contact pictures including this one bigger, meaning take up more of the screen. I feel like there is a lot of unused space.........

Sorry it took so long.. Had a lot of things to do this week. Couldn't make it bigger, but I'm still trying to work on that. Simply making the image bigger didn't help. There might be more to it than that. But here you go. It's too big to attach here (only a 2mb limit for apks -__- ) but go to this link and download the Phone.apk to your computer.
Put the Phone.apk in your sdk tools folder and connect your phone to your PC (make sure you have it on charge only). Open a command window on your computer and do:

cd <your file path>/tools
adb remount
adb push Phone.apk /system/app

You might get a force close and even drop service for a few seconds but it's ok. Check to see that it's there and let me know.
