Samsung A15 2017, when connected to Mac OS 10.11 . Problems with photos.

I am having lots of difficulty getting my photos onto my computer Mac OS 10.11. After many false starts I managed to transfer using the "Transfer Images" option (there are only two file protocol i.transfer files ii.transfer images). However, seems to miss all my videos and many photos seem corrupted/ unable to import. Should it not be easier to transfer photos ?

Upload your photos to Google Photos, then log into on your Mac. That should do the job!
