After i replaced my malfunctioning Samsung A16 that had a dying camera module i noticed something in Pokemon GO
Whenever i boot up Pokemon Go in my Samsung Galaxy A23 5G phone... it asks for a Facebook login prompt. Normally this is just a minor button press,
But Samsung A16 phone never log out when a home button was pressed.

I don't see phone power saving option or anything in the app that tells the app to log out and close if i leave it with my home button or show other apps compared to my malfunctioning phone which is just for backup purposes.
I use a Adblock Browser and Google Chrome but the phone never tells my apps to log me out. Galaxy A23 phone uses Android 14 with One UI 6.1.
Any suggestions ?

This is typically one of the options to log into a game and save your progress in a cloud account, much like signing into your Google Play Games account. Are you unable to skip the Facebook login?

I do get logged into the game. But i have usually never seen this prompt unless it's on a shopping mall public wi-fi spot. Why is this sort of thing happening on a older phone now for some reason ?

I don't think it's Google Play -- it's the game that's prompting you to log in. Many games give the option to log into your Google Play Games or Facebook account, but it shouldn't be required. That's why I'm asking if you can skip the login.

Exactly but these are phones that are 2 years apart and only one of them does this for pokemon go. So why has a 2 year older phone been withdrawn from being able to skip a web browser launching a log-in screen for a facebook account login ?

Oh I see -- you're saying that the newer phone automatically logs you out of your Facebook account when you leave the Pokemon Go app, such that when you reopen it, it asks you to log back into your Facebook account? But your older phone used to keep you logged into your Facebook account, even after leaving the Pokemon Go app and then coming back to it later?

Yes

The longer answer is that the phone that let me skip the screen by not even showing needing a facebook prompt. That phone i had to ditch (because of a malfunctioning camera module in it that) into the one Galaxy S23 that now always gives a facebook prompt.

It's possible that this has something to do with a recent update to the Pokemon Go app. I don't use it, so I can't really say -- maybe others here with experience playing the game can weigh in.

Could be a kink in the Android 14 version compared to Android 16 that more recent phones use.

It's still unsolved and Niantic and Google can't actually be contacted to check their answers except for most likely just recommending factory reset which is not actually a real solution

Can you lock pokemon app to recent apps or now it's stay open and doesn't clear out .

Set the app battery to unrestricted and in device care never sleep app

When you restart pokemon app it gives a webview version ?

Nope there is no locks available for recent apps
The game apparently launches a chrome webview but it still shows up as opening in my Adblock Browser. I did find one thing that didn't trigger the browser after force stopping the app. It was Battery > Background Usage Limits > Never Auto Sleeping Apps, then add Pokemon GO on that list.

I'm not sure if it will last.

If doesn't say lock then keep open?

That's odd cuz I have Pokemon Go (playing it on my OnePlus 15) and never had a FB prompt I didn't even know it was possible to log in with that
