Samsung A3 Update - existing Call Log entries gone

I have a Samsung A3 (2017). Software currently is Android 7.0

I updated my phone recently due to the usual prompt on the phone. After the overnight update, my existing/old call log entries have completely gone. I usually do not like to delete them as I may need it for work purposes to see when I last spoke to a particular person.

Is there any way to retrieve those call log entries?
