I too disable almost all of Google's apps, but I kept Chrome and disabled Samsung's browser instead.
Chrome is what I use on my Windows PCs and tablet so I like the convenience of having bookmarks synced.

I use the Samsung browser now. It really is very fast. I am enjoying it.

I find the Samsung browser to be faster than chrome. Plus the Samsung browser supports ad blocker.

Adblock wont work for me which pisses me off, i have a verizon S7E. Before verizon finally let us edge users have the stock browser back i downloaded the APK and adblock worked. Then went back to chrome, now im back on stock browser and ive downloaded adblock and others and it wont show up in my browser settings to block ads.

Just did a little quick test (lol) used both browsers on the same website and while note 100 percent accurate they are about the same in battery life. Charged both phones to 100 percent and used chrome till it hit 97 percent and that took 27 minutes. Used the stock browser and that one was 26 minutes. Chrome and stock are the same battery wise, but stock is smoother.

Are there any ad blockers for Chrome? And does ad block for the samsung browser work well?

@Not Quite Right: I've been using it for a couple months and it works pretty well for me. Just to make sure you are looking in the right place... when you sync with the extension it will add a new folder to the Samsung bookmarks. That folder name is Desktop bookmarks. Within that you will find the Chrome bookmarks. If you haven't already done it, you may want to try signing out and back in and uninstalling and reinstalling the extension.

I've been trying to use the Samsung browser for more things and really like it. I definitely like that I'm able to use fingerprints for logins...

After using both browsers I'm using the Samsung Browser as my default. Love the ad blocker and I too find Chrome heats my phone up slightly.

For adblock with Chrome, look at Block This https://block-this.com/ and NetGuard [APP][4.0+] NetGuard - No-root firewall [2.2… | Android Development and Hacking .

Note that to get ad blocking with NetGuard you need to use the XDA version. The Play Store version doesn't support it (due to Google policies). Both also block ads in apps, which the browser can't.

As far as the browsers, I prefer Chrome's integration with other Google apps, including Google Now, to the extra speed in Samsung's browser. I've not noticed my phone heating up in Chrome.
