Samsung Calendar and Google Calendar don't sync

On my old BlackBerry (I know, not the best way to start a question) anything I entered in my calendar, including things entered automatically by FB, would also automatically show up in my Google Calendar on my pc desktop. Events I create show up there, but not all day events, invites I've accepted from FB or G+, etc... I think I've checked all the sync settings and selected all the apps and devices I want to sync. It is quite possible that I'm missing something.
Also, if I accept an event from FB and it shows up in calendar I cannot edit the event from the Samsung Calendar or Google Calendar. This seems like simple functionality that would be included. As it was on my BlackBerry...
