Samsung Charge USB charging issues

My Charge recently started having issues charging via USB charger. It acts like there is a short or broken contact in the USB port itself. I stopped in a local Best Buy store and the phone rep had the same phone and stated that his just started doing the same thing! Is there any known hardware issues or could this possibly be a software or app issue. When I wiggle the charging cable the "charging" icon goes of and on.

I think you're just seeing one of the downsides of the micro-USB port standard. They don't seem to hold up all that well. My Lenovo TouchPad Tablet has a lot of angry purchasers who have had their micro-USB charging ports go bad, and the darn things just don't seem very robust to me.
