I was just able to have a play with the S10 and S10 plus in store and some things are holding me back from that pre-order at the moment. In no particular order....



Size, one is maybe too small the other too big. I currently have a Mate 20 pro and this IMO falls into the Goldilocks zone for size and sits between the two Small margins I know

Ceramic is only available on the 10+. Size wise I am leaning towards the 10 but I really like the ceramic finish and as someone who rarely uses a case it is an attractive feature and was something I really liked about the essential phone when I had it.

The main camera seems to be un-changed. Yes there is the new ultra-wide but unless I have been misinformed the main shooter is the same as the S9/Note 9. Still good but likely to still fall short of the Pixel and mate 20

Residual concerns over update frequency. Yes things were slightly improved this year but a lot of S9/Note 9 users are still waiting on pie. Samsung are not on Oneplus’s level yet for updates even if they are better than LG

Not a fan of OneUi gestures at all. I do though really like gestures so would have to go with a 3rd party option like fluid. Hardly a show-stopper but a consideration nonetheless as I am not a fan of giving 3rdparty apps such access unless I have to.

I’d have to dust off the current package disabler app of choice to get rid of all that bloatware. Par for the course on a Galaxy though

No secure face unlock. It seems to have the basic camera based option seen on the OP phones but lacks the more sophisticated unlock offered by the iPhone and Mate

Curved screen, would honestly prefer a flat screen. Appreciate curved screens feel nice in the hand but you do lose real estate. It would have been really interesting if the 10 was 5.8" and the 10e 6.1"

- Price, like apple I think Samsung are really pushing their luck and a part of me would like them to fail for that. In their defence there are options at multiple price points and unlike apple they have gone sub £700 with the 10e



All that being said there is a LOT to like no other android brings together the whole package like a Samsung does, the Mate is so close but the lack of a proper always on display and software quirks mean it is just a little rough around the edges vs a Samsung, it also has a minor but annoying colour shift on the curved edges that I cannot un-see and does not sync the volume with my BT headphones (Real first world problems I know!) It is a terrific device but lacks polish I guess.



This time last year I was convinced that I would be 100% Pixel but when the 3 landed it turned out to be a disappointment for me and did not tick the boxes I was expecting so here I am considering giving Samsung my money yet again!



Anybody else procrastinating over their pre-order?

I'm in. S10+ Ceramic Black 512g for AT&T. Question: I didn't see a color option for the buds. Did I miss something? Not really feeling white buds with a black phone.

I preorderd a S10 128Gb from Samsung. I am pretty sure when ordering the free ear buds were in my cart but on my confirmation email and in my manage order I don't see them. Is this normal or do you guys show the free ear buds in your confirmation?

Upgrading my two family phones from the S7 and S8. Both get heavy usage and are showing signs of age including burn in on both and burnt out pixels on the 7.

So preordered the 10+ hopefully they have lasting power!

1. Never was a fan of curve screen. The amount of screen protector to keep edge down is endless. Just my OCD.

2. Missed smaller phone. I feel 5.8" is right size to hold and pocket.


Hopefully, Samsung will continue this flat screen in future.

I was in the same boat as you coming from the S7. I love the flat screen and was set on getting the S10E but the deal on the regular S10 was tempting so I went to the new Samsung store in Los Angeles last night and wow was I surprised. The edge on the phone is not very noticeable, if anything it just makes the screen look better.

Also the size between the too was almost the same, the only difference is the S10 is a bit taller. For the bigger battery, better screen, more RAM, extra camera, and fingerprint scanner + the free buds I had to pull the trigger. The S10E is still a great phone and feels like it will hold up better to drops.

Pre-ordered from Samsung S10 Plus Black 128 with free Galaxy Buds! Should get them both on 3/8

Now the countdown begins......

I saw the same thing in my confirmation email but I was told by multiple Samsung reps that we will have to fill some form out and then we'll receive the buds like 6-8 weeks later.

Yeah it’s 8th March to 8th April where you can claim them
 
Did anybody upgrade using Best Buy? I got the Prism Blue for me & the Flamingo Pink for my wife, on At&t, but never saw anything about the Galaxy buds during checkout. Best Buy's homepage mentioned them, but never saw another thing about them after that.

What are your estimated ship dates? Mine says 03/08. The site now shows 03/15 for the Prism White

I want to pre-order, but for some reason, LG G7 ThinQ isn't on the list of trade-in devices and I can't justify spending $900 when my current phone is less than a year old. Sad...

I tried ordering another phone for a family member and I am having all sorts of issues on Samsung.com. The accessories I chose for the $50 promo are being charged to me when I go to the cart, and also when I sign into Verizon account on Samsung I receive an error. Samsung is saying it's Verizon's fault but it's happening on Samsung's site?

Now when I go back it's saying that the S10 in white or black is sold out : / pretty frustrating.
 
I just preordered my s10+ prism white and didn't receive a $50 credit.. Don't really know how it is supposed to work.
