Samsung Driver not installing consistently

I have a new Samsung Galaxy Core Prime. When I plug into into my USB it doesn't always connect. (PC Windows 7 professional 64 bit). If you look under Device Driver the phone is shown with exclamation mark, ie not working. So if you un-install the driver and then replug the phone it usually loads the driver and the phone is connected. Till the next time I connect the phone and then I have to usually go through this un-install and replug in. I have looked on this site and some people say they had a poor USB cable. But this cable came from Samsung and I don't believe it is the cable. It looks to me like a poor Driver problem. I have seen some suggestions about changing registry values? But haven't found clear details on this.

Re: Samsung Driver not installing consistently

Welcome to Android Central! Any cable can go bad, so it's still worth trying a different cable. You should also try different USB ports, in case you're routinely using one that might be faulty.

Also, make sure your Windows system is fully up-to-date.

Re: Samsung Driver not installing consistently

This is a brand new cable from Samsung. Plus when you look in Device Manager on the non-responsive driver it says: Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37). Have also tried different USB ports. I had this sort of problem with an early Kindle driver. Sorted with later driver. I suspect the driver is old: The drivers is: Samsung Electronics Co Ltd;Portable Devices; Value SM-G361F; Microsoft 21/06/2006;6.1.7601.18738. PC is Windows 7 professional (64bit) all the latest patches are installed. If Samsung have a later driver on their web site I could download it.
