Samsung Fast Wireless Charger won't keep phone charged after initial charge

I use my phone (Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge) as my alarm clock at night, and I put it on the wireless charger to charge, and because it holds the phone at a good viewing angle.

I''ve noticed that after the phone charges to 100 (around 3:00am), it stops charging, and even if the battery level drops it doesn''t start charging again unless the phone is removed from the charger and put back again.

When the phone is plugged into the wired charger, it stops charging when the phone is completely charged, but then it will start charging again if the battery level drops.

This means that if I charge overnight using the wireless charger, then from 3:00am (when the phone stops charging) until 7:00am (when I get up), the phone has been discharging, and is usually down to 80% or so battery level at the beginning of my day.

Is anyone else having similar issues? Does this happen with other wireless chargers? Is this problem specific to the S7 or to the Samsung Fast Wireless charger?

Is there a way to make charging on the wireless charger behave the same as charging with the wired charger? This seems like a huge design flaw, and makes the wireless charger almost useless for unattended charging.

is Galaxy S7 Edge this bad with power? or is your screen on all night?
I just got a Note 4 yesterday, so I charged it up before going to bed and figure I do not want to plug it in all night on full battery so I unpluged it and let it lay there. I also use it as alarm clock but screen is off.
this morning it was @85% capacity. that is from 11PM to 5.30AM 6.5 hours.

I though loosing 15% overnight is bad. you are loosing 20% in 4 hours doing nothing.
I feel much better now, sorry for you though, but much better for me, as bad as it's sounds.

Yes, as I mentioned, it is my alarm clock at night, so it is displaying a clock (Kaloer clock at 3% brightness -- just bright enough to read in a full dark room) all night.

It was at 87% when I woke up this morning. Assuming that it stopped charging at 3am and I woke up at 7am, then that means that the S7 Edge would last about 30 hours on standby with my clock display. It would probably last longer if the display were completely off.

I don't think it will help. this is their caned answer for everything. I have a sneaking suspicion that it is an auto-response server default.

Whoever responded paraphrased my problem back to me, so it doesn't seem to have been an auto-response. You may be right about whether it will help, since there probably aren't enough people that are bothered enough by this to complain.
