Samsung G S9 OS9 - Music Controls on Lock screen no longer work

[Android Central Question]

I'm on build # ending in SAG. The update that allowed control over the Bixby button... Ever since updating I can no longer control music through the lock screen. I've tried disabling the bixby button. I've tried disabling//re-enabling music control in the Lock screen settings. Nothing has worked so far

Has anyone else experienced this issue & fixed it?

I'm also having this issue. Tap the buttons but it doesn't do anything until I unlock the phone and head to the Spotify widget. Once I hit a button there, it registers anything I tapped on the lock screen and then whatever I tapped on using the widget. (IE if I tapped "next song" on the lock screen, nothing happens; tape "next song" on Spotify widget and it skips two songs)

Finally fixed it! Got the latest update 8.4.96.953 and then had to go to Settings>Device Care>Battery. Under Optimization, Spotify was listed to put to sleep immediately. I turned this option and all works just fine! WHEW!

What fixed it was reinstalling Spotify.
