Samsung Galaxy 2 skyrocket won't connect to car via USB

I just got a samsung galaxy 2 skyrocket. I have a honda civic 2013 LE or LX.

I plug the phone in with 2 different USB cables and both times the screen in my car say "unsupported" How can I fix this?

It's likely a compatibility issue with the device that you can't fix. What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Perhaps there's another way to get that result.

I used to have an LG G2x that when you plug it into the car USB and press AUX on the car's radio it would play the music on the phone.

BAsically I'm just trying to play my phone's music through my phone.
