Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 - volume control on headset not working

Hello,
As per the subject. I just purchased an AKG 451 and the volume controls don't work on either TuneIn or the FM Radio. I've powercycled the phone and unplugged/plugged in the headphones. I've also activated "Use Volume Keys for Media" but nothing seems to work - I still can't adjust the volume from the headset.
Anyone else got my combination of hardware and managed to get it working?
My phone is running Android 7.0.

Those headphones are specifically designed for iOS devices, which have a slightly different headphone configuration than most Android devices. It's common for extra features like remote control buttons to have compatibility issues in these situations. AKG shop - K 451
