Samsung Galaxy a8 vs Huawei p20

Is there really a contest? Reviews say that Samsung is too expensive for what it has to offer, but my carrier is offering Samsung for about 30% less money. But I'm leaning more towards the huawei, though it's an unknown territory for me, I'm used to Samsung...
Basically, I'm not sure if they're even on the same category

The A8 isn't in the same class as the P20 / P20 Pro.

Huawei P20 Pro is much better for sure, it's a flagship phone competing with the S9+, the a8 isn't a flagship.

I came from s4, note 4 and S8 +. I felt the same way like you after getting so comfortable with Samsung and seeing how much they've improved. When I decided to make the switch to Huawei I have no regrets took me maybe a day to get use to their UI, but once you figure out their UI you'll find the Huawei is way better phone than Samsung especially the P20 Pro no brainer. Although the cpu is last years model it's still pretty fast for a daily driver. The camera itself is worth it along with 6gb ram and 128gb storage. It's also a bigger battery last me for 2 full days before charge even though it didn't come with the micro sd option I really don't care cause 128gb storage is plenty. My S8+ always gave me problems with my sd card I kinda give up on that and I even had the Samsung micro sd card pro suppose to be better than other brand and I still have problems. Anyways go for it don't hesitate!

6.99 protects the camera... ive tried around 7 cases and this one protects the camera best.
