Android Central Question

After doing a factory reset, I sold my Samsung Galaxy S5 on Ebay. The buyer notified me that after entering their new password during setup, they received the message, "account is locked because of an abnormal factory reset", and says we have to "sign in to the Samsung account that was previously used" to get any further. I logged into my Samsung account to find that I hadn't signed out the S5 from my account. If I now sign out the S5 from my account, will this allow the buyer to proceed with the setup?

Welcome to Android Central! At this point, you'd have to give the buyer your Samsung account name and password. Once they enter that and can set the phone up, you should tell them to immediately remove your Samsung account, and then do another proper factory reset through the Settings>Backup & Reset menu (which should also remove your Google account, if it's still on there). I would also recommend changing your Samsung password after this is done.
