Samsung Galaxy Express 3 keyboard does not appear, cannot type texts or respond to emails.

[Android Central Question]

Went to Settings, Device, Applications, Applications Manager, More, Systems Apps and Samsung Keyboard. Deleted the Cache and still no keyboard.
I did notice that under Set as Default it says "None set as default." I am unable to make any choice.
Then I went to Language and Input. The default keyboard is Samsung Keyboard. However, if I choose Go to Input Settings, the Samsung keyboard choice is not available--I can see it, but it is not bold and does not allow any change when I tap on it. Any suggestions?

Welcome to Android Central! Have you tried installing another keyboard like Gboard and making that default?
