Samsung Galaxy Grand Slow Performance after JB 4.2.2 upgrade.

the new 98mb really sucks man my phone hangs all the time . An app takes nearly 5 minutes to open . wtf please fix this

I am facing the same problem after this upgrade. How to resolve this my phone hangs constantly I can't even use it too make calls or receive calls it has become a total mess leave alone using it for running apps. Pathetic upgrade I will not ever upgrade my phone now. I have factory reset it also but that too has not helped as if this new version was meant too damage phones and nothing is undoing the damage.

i have download same upgrade, after installing it Phone become very slow & got hang lot many time which needed reboot the device 4-5 times in a day. which makes me so irritating even i had decided to thought this samsung grand phone away. But I found the way to make it Faster - Go to settings --->developer options (if it is not showing this option click on build no 8 times it will get activate) --> you will see 1) Window animation scale 2) transition animation scale 3) animator duration scale OFF these three option. You will see gr8 performance to be increased.

It worked for my Grand duos
Hope it will be faster from now onward,
I have disabled many applications given by Samsung, hope it will not affect my Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos

I am so sick of using this P-O-S phone from Samsung. The performance has deteriorated steadily over the 12 months that I've been using this phone. The Vibrate option died in December. I had to take it to Samsung Service Center to get this replaced under warranty. Now the speed has been so incredibly slow even though I have downloaded no more than 5-7 apps on the phone (no games at all). Everything from the camera to text input to switching between applications takes several minutes - enough to make me want to throw this under a bus.

I tried to do a factory reset but the prerequisites to back up data to external SD as well as find out if my phone is "rooted" are not easy to accomplish. While I have over 400MB of free space on my phone, it refuses to let me download and install a 2MB file SuperSu for the rooting process. The same thing happens with any app I want to install (even if they are just 5-10MB in size). I have disabled nearly all the Samsung apps that none of us really asked for (but aren't allowed to delete completely).

What a ****ty phone where 8gigs of data is really just 4GB, thanks to a bunch of useless apps you cannot remove!

Now I am confused if I should try to upgrade the OS to KitKat (and risk ruining the phone altogether) or simply toss this phone in the attic and buy a new one like the Moto-G. I am NEVER buying a Samsung phone again.

Hello Khalhot,

Did you install the latest update released and then disabling the apps resolved your problem? Because for the BMK3 (Novemeber 2013) version, this option is valid, but not valid for BNB1 (February 2014) release.

i have upadated my samsung galaxy grand duos at samsung care.
there was a problem of bionery update
but after two weaks it again start to hang.
when i open gellery it take long time
after clicking picture when i open preview it's behaving like it's switch off
and main thing when i open dialing or conatcts it's also take long time

samsung should do something for it..

they are selling number of phone but they should also look after this problem of cutomer

I have a similar problem.
I installed the 4.2.2 rom and it got really slow after a few days of use. Then I went back to 4.1.2 and the same happened... it started very fast but after installing a few aps it became very slow. Sometimes I have to wait a lot just to open whatsapp or facebook.
I did everything mentioned in here and I don't have many apps installed but it is still slow.
Every time I make a factory reset, the phone is fast again, but after a start installing apps and updates it gets veeery slow.

Eureka Solution Found!!!

I have been suffering with my Galaxy Duos GT-I9082 for 2 weeks now since upgrading to JB 4.2.2. Phone Hanging, Very Slow Operations, Fast Battery Drain. I have tired all of the suggestions on the many forums... hard reboot with cache delete, 61MB patch etc... etc... but non worked. until now. So do try this, my phone back to its normal self + I have back some of the missing functions such as call holding (which is how I came across this solution)...

1) Go to Setting
2) Choose "My Device" from the Top Bar
3) Choose "Home Screen Mode"
4) Select "Standard Mode"
5) Select "OK" Erase any home screen customisation (this is very easly reset to your standard in a few minute after you complete this step.

You will find all is back to normal!! Good Luck!!!!
