I just created a task using action memo. Once you write the memo, click on the 3rd icon from the next to the pen (looks like a dotted lasso). It'll highlight your text and ask what you want to do with it. The last option create a task.
After I clicked that option, it asked where I wanted to have the task saved. I selected my Google Calendar so I have the task on my tablet and my phone. Once you pick where you want it saved, you can edit the different options in your calendar (i.e. reminders, time due, etc.)
