Samsung Galaxy Note 2: Changes After 4.3 Update

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Changes After 4.3 Update

Hi All!

I created an account on this website just so i could share how I improved my Note 2's battery (quite drastically) after the update.

Below is a list of the settings I changed on my phone and everything else I did. I stopped charging it at 8.30 this morning, its now 10pm and I still have 61% charge!

Settings - (Connections) - make sure NFC, S Beam, and Nearby Devices are off
- (My device) - S Pen - Air view - battery saving on
- Smartscreen - smart stay off
- Motion - should be off
- Display - auto adjust screen tone on
- (More) - location services - access my location off

Apps - (samsung apps) - home key to get settings pop up - auto updates off
- push notifications off
- app update notifications off

(google settings) - location - access location off
ads - opt out of interest-based ads ticked

(play store) - home key to get settings - notifications unchecked
- auto-update apps ( do not auto-update)
- auto-add widgets unchecked

Go on the home screen, press the apps thing, then at the top go to widgets. Add 'active apps manager' to your homescreen somewhere. On this you can close down all apps. Every once in a while, go on it and press 'RAM - clear memory.' This will help save battery.

I also turned my phone off for a good 20 minutes when it was on low battery (around 15%). Apparently this helps if you haven't turned your phone off since the update.

I hope this helps! I don't use this website so I can't promise I'll reply to any questions, but hope this helps someone!

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Changes After 4.3 Update

It may be our phones and carrier update. When I watch YouTube videos about the update, we are missing some features that are similar to the Note 3. I'll probably backup my files and do a factory reset first before installing any rom. A task for the weekend!

I have the same problem can I downgrade back to 4.1

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Changes After 4.3 Update

I'd really love the option to turn data off in the drop down menu. Would be awesome.

As far as battery life, with moderate to heavy use I'm sitting at about 40% battery life left after 14 hours.

I'm still with Android 4.1.1 (software update is disabled) and very happy. NOTE 2 is very smooth, and the battery never let me down. :)

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Changes After 4.3 Update

I updated my Note 2 from 4.1.2 to 4.3 yesterday, and I'm not happy with the results AT ALL!
I was wondering if anyone could help me with these bugs?!!!

1. I can't get my "QUICK COMMAND" to open at all. Is there more than one way to open it? Also, my S pen AirView doesn't work when I'm in my notifications as it DID before the software update!
2. I want to pull my hair out! I can NOT find "TAG BUDDY" ANYWHERE on my phone, I've looked EVERYWHERE!!! I have watched the YouTube video and I see where it's suppose to be, but it's NOT on my phone ANYWHERE!!! :(
3. THE WORST is the NEW WAY to view your photos - 1X1???!!!! Who's the ***** that gave the approval to make that change?!!! STUPID! I can't even wrap my head around that decision! You're suppose to be going FORWARDS NOT BACKWARDS!!! At best, they should have just added it as an OPTION!!! Might have to change phones and (or) carriers because I'm really HUGE on taking pictures with my phone and this is NOT going to work for me!!! This is BY FAR, the biggest disappointment to me! :(

Any tips or solutions would be GREATLY appreciated!!! :) Thank you for your time too!!! :)
