Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - Does anyone else think the camera sucks?

Upgraded from iphone 4s on sunday. Love this phone and very happy with android overall. Dissapointed with the camera, wasnt expecting nokia quality but the pictures I take inside or outside in different levels of light are worse then my iphone.

There we go! Fuzzy, blurry, grainy. Very Note 3'ish!

Go take one of the lights on the house outside. Stand back a bit, get the whole house into the shot. Make sure its dark other than for the Xmas lights.

Just curious.... What exactly do you expect from a room illuminated with nothing but Christmas lights?

Re: Does anyone else think the camera sucks?

I just don't get it because I had the iphone 4s before, which has a much lower megapixel camera than the Note 3 camera. Yet the iphone 4s seemed to take better pictures indoors.

It has very little to do with the camera and everything to do with the software that is processing the picture taken. Iphone has always been at the top of the pile because of the processing of the jpeg that goes on behind the scene. I hope people aren't taking pictures with their phones in hopes of printing out 8x10's. Can it be done, I am sure it can, but just because something can be done doesn't mean you should do it. Pictures I take with my camera end up on Facebook or MMS messages. Pictures I want to print out and hang are taken with my G5

I know it's been a while since this has been posted, but when I got my new Note 3, there was a clear protective adhesive over the lens. I only discovered it after a week, so in case you were like me, that could be affecting the image.

Coming from a Galaxy S3 and an iPhone 5, I can say that the Note 3's camera is the best I've seen.

I think it sucks first day I purchased the phone I realized that my Note 2 pictures looked a lot better than note3. Note 2 pics are much richer In color and not as watered down as note 3 pics. Most definitely disappointed because Note 2 took nice pics in night and day... I'm beginning that an update can fix this camera.

I totally have to disagree with you..

here is another from my horrible note 3 camera lol. I think there are people who's are purposely taking bad pictures here or else they have a defective phone.

People are also saying that the iPhone 5 takes vastly superior pictures, but based on this thread, http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-3/341247-note-3-vs-iphone-5-camera-samples.html, I'm not seeing it.

My honest opinion is that it's all subjective and people will see what they want to see. My guess is that there's an iPhone forum somewhere that someone is proclaiming that the Note 3's camera blows the iPhone 5's out of the water. I'm also guessing in that thread there are probably some people that want to appear to have such impeccable and distinguishing taste that they insist the iPhone 5's camera is abysmal.

I don't claim to be some sort of camera snob, but if I did I think I'd probably try to focus my expertise on something more formidable than a camera phone. I find it akin to trying to convince people that I'm an auto-performance enthusiast because I think a Honda Accord handles better than a Toyota Corolla. In the end you're still using a cell phone to take pictures.

Trust me! It's trying to fight an uphill battle! I've shown samples in that thread (and others) to show that the camera is very good and no matter what people will still believe what they want.

Yeah, I think some people are just difficult in general. I bet they're about as hard to shop for Xmas as my brother is. What I've learned to do is not put much thought into buying their Xmas present because it could be the most perfect ideal gift for them, but they're still going to ***** about something "Oh it's the wrong shade of my favorite color", "It isn't approved by my friend_____ who's a 'chef' over at iHop"....

That's one slick looking tree. I've never done them in my life, but if someone asked me what I think doing shrooms is like, I'd show them this picture and say, "Imagine every tree looks like this".
